Thanks to film journalist and editor Anne Thompson, I was lucky enough to be able to interview David S. Cohen and Peter Debruge of Variety magazine about their thoughts regarding developing trends in animation. I asked them if they considered motion-capture to be animation or live action and given recent Disney films, this is still a valuable question to consider.
The conversation originally streamed live on November 12, 2007 during the last WGA Strike. It’s amazing how much and how little has changed since then.
