Now that The Devils is getting the full 4K uncut release this fall, I'll finally watch it.

Well as "uncut" as they can do anyway. There are so many different cuts of the film that it's hard to know what was the "Director's Vision." That said, I am excited about the new edition and will watch it. I'm not sure I'll buy it. I think it is a brilliant and poignant film, but it's not one I want to rewatch regularly and since I don't still have dreams of directing films, I won't be watching it repeatedly for some of the very good lessons it has to teach about pacing, framing, and space.

I think you will like it.

I had never heard of the guy before I saw that episode, so I was a bit confused....

That's okay, I didn't realize until recently that Mastermind (the X-Men villain) was modeled after him until last year.

Thank you so much for this list! I missed out on a LOT of these films, and I will remedy that as time allows. However, some of them I did see, and they stand out to me for different and hopefully mildly more amusing reasons than you discussed. My uncle (only 9 years older than me) and his friend were forced to take me to the drive-in one night, so they took me to see..."Devil's Rain!" I was in the backseat, and there was a big, empty station wagon hatchback behind me. Pure evil, I tell you! You mentioned "Lifeforce" in passing, and that one is another drive-in story, but this time the joke was on my Mom and Stepfather who took my brother out to see what they thought was just a "space vampire" movie when I was 14 years old. Fun ride home, that was! As for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I finally saw that for the first time in the early 2000s at a "Dinner and a Movie" theater on Halloween with an old roommate of mine. I had a sausage and pasta dish :)
