Thank you for the mention! Love your points about The One Ring and MERP (imagine ten-year-old me trying to figure THAT system out, lol!). I think as I make my DCC homebrew, I'll be borrowing from both systems' sourcebooks while trying to maintain the DCC vibe. There's a lot I like about The One Ring, but I also want the freedom to play Middle-Earth games that aren't set in the Third Age.

And, as always, this weekly rundown has SO MUCH good stuff to check out! I'll be spending a ton of time with all these links :D

A very belated comment here from me! Thanks for the recommendation here! I haven't played many tabletop games outside of a few one-shots of D&D, but this one here feels pretty accessible and quick to start. Plus the added innovation of using a Jenga tower instead of dice - pretty nifty!

Thanks for stopping by and replying. I try to do one of these lists every week, so you might come up again in my discussions and recommendations. I am trying to connect various communities here and I was intrigued by your "mission" to watch horror movies.

Given your taste for American folklore, I think you might enjoy The Buffalo Hunter Hunter (not a typo) novel by Stephen Graham Jones. And Idaho does have some great mountains (and potatoes)!

Let's see...American Folklore, Historical Horror dealing with real events, and "post-ironic" David Foster Wallace style sincerity (from the Wiki page)?

Yeah, that sounds exactly like the next book I want to read. Thank you very much for the recommendation.

The transgressive stuff is on TV now. I reckon Ken Russell might have liked Preacher.

After seeing the new Toxie, I saw Peacemaker season 2 episode 3, which is much more "Toxic Avenger" than the remake; unsurprisingly, James Gunn gets Troma. And The Boys continues to obliterate boundaries.
