Thanks for sharing the “It Came from the Game Closet” article. I could relate and subscribed to Jennifer M. Baldwin's newsletter. Also, consider me anxiously awaiting the tale of “The Sweet Pickles Bus War of Sparks Middle School”!

I'm really going to have to write that up. It's memoir material that I certainly grew and learned from, sadly too late to save a friendship.

The Twister fans are coming out of the woodwork (Owen Gleiberman? Really?), making me wonder whom I can count on to tell me if I'll like the new one, given that I'm the opposite of a fan.

My guess is that if you didn't like the first one, you won't like this one. It looks like it's playing with a similar formula. I'm all in, but I get not liking the original.

It is a director who has a much better sense of story this time, which is why I have an iota of hope. If I miss the press screening, though, I won't seek it out.

Not a Jan De Bont fan?

I guess I only like two of the films he directed. I credit Alexander Witt with most of what I like in Twister though. The second unit work is amazing.

I like Speed a lot. That's mostly it.

One thing is for sure, though -- I will no longer think of Twister as the movie only you like. Every other fan is finding their voice now.

I'm glad to see them revealing their enjoyment. As I implied above, too many hid their fandom behind the list of things you are supposed to like. I think its fine to like popcorn and Steak au Poivre and Twister is buttery popcorn.
