Nice! My dad worked for NCR and worked with business computers. Much like computer engineers anywhere, his coworkers had ported over dozens of computer games to these niche NCR computers that were not meant to be PC's. Some version of Super Star Trek (this version was just called Star Trek but it played like what you show) was one of the games, and I played it for hours imagining myself on the bridge of the Enterprise, scouting for star bases and shooting photon torpedoes at Klingons. I got very good with the directional nature of photon firing using slight angle adjustments. Fun game.
Retro gaming and the way you connected it to your own programming background was such a fun read there’s something special about games that make you use your imagination like that.

Don't forget this Star Trek gaming classic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begin_(video_game)
I was not even familiar with that and now HAVE to play it.
In case you didn't see, Good Old Games (GOG) announced today that Star Trek 25th anniversary has been added to their Preservation Program
Sweet!
