This is where I differ from the editors you worked with. Where they asked you to be non-political, I want you to feel free to write what you feel and allow whoever reads to respond with their opinions, opinions that I don't think of as genuine. I think they are genuine and worthy of reading.

I agree; the whole "don't be political" thing led to the alt-right using Gamergate to recruit from nerddom and it's much more obvious in hindsight.

I'm pro-deliberation and anti-echo chamber.
I'll only add that Abraxas is of Cuban heritage and queer, so his existence under both communism and capitalism has been politicized.
