Los Angeles Crime Blotter (from L.A. Independent)

I like reading the crime blotter for the city I live in, especially if there are names and addresses I recognize as immediately relevent to my life. As a fan of James Ellroy, it's not hard to imagine the back-story to each incidence of petty theft, assault, or some other, more horrible crime. My favorite blotter report so far:

On August 10 at 9:30 a.m. along the 500 block of La Brea Avenue, a 63-year-old man swung his walking cane and missed hitting a 65-year-old man. The elderly suspect later fled the location.
