New Hercules Mini in the works

According to the Hollywood Reporter there is a new Hercules Miniseries in the works. I don't know if I am ready for a new Hercules just yet. I liked Kevin Sorbo and having just seen Young Hercules in The Notebook, a movie with a better ending than the book it was based on, I can wait a little while for a new version. A couple of comments though. It seems that this is just another attempt to make a sword and sandles show and capitalize on the recent "epic" trend. Now I am all for sword and sandles films, but I don't want to be oversaturated with them. You have to give new audiences time to watch the old classics. Second, the article says that this Hercules isn't going to be a Schwartzenegger clone. But that was one of the things I loved about Sorbo. He wasn't a Schwartzenegger clone at all. Sure he was a little too Malibu surfer from time to time, but he was an interesting choice for Herc. My only problems with the Raimi affair was watching Xena spiral into meaninglessness.
